Chatr now offers Twitter and Facebook updates

Chatr Wireless doesn’t seem to going away anytime soon. They have socially just kicked their devices to this decade by adding the ability to receive free Facebook and Twitter updates on Chatr devices. To start receiving Facebook updates text “F” to 32655 and for Twitter text “GO” to 21212. Certainly a good step forward for Rogers uber discount brand.

  1. Just offer data already. None of this archaic texting to check for updates.

  4. Getting ever closer! I’m all for more free stuff and so far Chatr’s been all over keeping it worth my money. I think data’s coming, to be honest. I’m more than willing to wait and see what these guys offer. I imagine it’ll be pretty close to what the other guys have, cept not as needlessly complicated.

  5. Data?! Kidding? How do you expect data on 2G Network? I think they should upgrade their network first and then offer data because using data on a 2g network is a pain in the neck! It remembers me the time I had dial up internet!

    • … I can’t in good conscience reply yet. Do some research about their network, then come back to me.

    • It can’t be too bad. It’s up to 1 megabit per second or, on average, 400 kilobits per second. Dial-up is 56 kilobits per second.

It’s faster with Opera compression technology, which can “double” or even “triple” Internet download speeds with pictures and text.

It may be Rogers’ way to put their old 2G technology to use, but with Opera, 3 Mbps theoretical and 1.2 Mbps typical speeds sound pretty good to me. Hopefully the price is reasonable too.

    • Chatr has full access to the 3G rogers network, 3G data is blocked off because Chatr doesn’t yet offer data, but if you have a 3g capable phone, you will notice that you get 3G voice coverage. Please research before you make false claims.

  9. Iberry do some research before you foam at the mouth. Chatr uses the Rogers network 3G and 2g. If you had an iPhone 3G 3GS or iPhone 4, or any 850/1900 3G unlocked devices you can pop a sim card in and use 3G voice. It’s been proven time over that you can use both 3G and 2g. All you need is a chatr sim card. Please research before you start with false info. Yes chatr sells crap 2g phones but all you need is a sim and can use any 3G compatible phone call them to confirm.

  13. George Berry likes the idea of paying for a service that he can use only some of the time.. 1/2 duplex home zone that becomes an away zone that becomes a no zone. must be nice!

daily I read dozens of network related issues with wind.

but you have to give chatr credit the HD voice they use is amazing. Oh what? they do not use it? well it sounds better and louder and clear than the new state of the art wind network.. I wonder why?

outsourced quashed jabronied and now soon contracted gooo wind.. just go.
