WIND Mobile celebrated their first anniversary in Vancouver yesterday by selling a limited amount of refurbished (lightly loved) BlackBerry Bold 9700 devices. They also extended the promo for the entire month of June that will see weekend $1 deals. This weekend if you buy a Nokia C5-04 ($150) or Huawei 3200 ($78) you can get a 2nd one for a buck. The fine print states that “Customers must activate both phones in store with a monthly voice plan that is $25/month or more”.
WIND recently crossed over the 300,000 subscriber base and Vancouver accounts for 40,000 of those customers (13.3%). An interesting Vancouver stat is that WIND customers have racked up 166 million minutes of talk time over the past year. This works out to about 4,150 minutes per customer. Would be good to see the data numbers too.
