You have to respect Sony Ericsson for their dedication to the Android platform. After revealing last year that the software upgrades for the Xperia X10 would end at OS 2.1 they’ve come out today and declared that OS 2.3 Gingerbread will be rolled out in the Q3/Q4 time frame.
“We plan to bring an upgrade to Android Gingerbread for the XperiaTM X10 to generic trade kits end Q2 / early Q3 this year. We have heard your requests all along but until today have not been able to confirm this”. Sony Ericsson does state on the company blog that there will be some limitation but generally the same functionality of the Gingerbread experience on the upcoming Xperia Play and Arc.
Nice work Sony Ericsson, nice work.
