Future Shop confirms pricing of the Bell Motorola ATRIX accessories

Last week we revealed the upcoming prices for the Bell Motorola ATRIX accessories. The Lapdock was listed for $499.95, standard Multimedia doc for $49.95, HD Multimedia dock has a price of $129.95 and the Vehicle mount for $59.95. Looks like our friends over at Future Shop have confirmed the prices of all of these and listed them online, just for $0.04 more though. We’re still waiting on Bell to come through with a bundle option off the ATRIX and all these accessories together.

  1. Dear Future Shop,

You currently have 30 different laptops listed at under $500 on your web site. Each and every one of them offers infinitely greater functionality than the lapdock.

Now I realize that you aren’t setting the price on this item, but please do the right thing. If anyone is considering buying the lapdock, please mock them thoroughly and then escort them to your laptop section.

    Thank you kindly,

    Common Sense.

    • I think they would probably talk customers to buy a real laptop rather than this. Future shop representatives get higher commission in selling laptops than almost everything else.

    • The Laptop Dock was a great idea, if not the greatest in recent mobility innovations.
Meanwhile, with a price like this, it is now just plain ridiculous.

Like Jellmoo noted, there is a huge number of very potent laptop and netbooks at the same price, including a full Windows 7 license, that are functionally miles ahead this gimmick.

  2. While I was really looking forward to this, between Motorola’s track record with android updates, and the insane pricing on the lapdock, I will just wait for another manufacturer to do this right.

    • @Walter – you forgot to mention Motorola’s use of signed boot loaders, which makes installing unofficial ROMs (one way to stay up to date) impossible or nearly so.

Sadly, Motorola is a fail in Android in general.

  3. The lapdock price is going to make people think twice, actually why bother with any docks at all? Hardly any devices these days has a dock, it seems to be last century.

Like I said in the other Atrix post here on MSyrup, why is the Atrix going to sell big again?

  4. Best buy has it in their systems at $399 right now, hopefully that wont change. Not that it matters since $400 is way too much too but just a heads up for anyone interested in it.

  5. Just want to correct sub-joker’s comment. An employee at future shop will make more commission on just about everything OTHER than laptops.

  6. If you’re going to to buy the Atrix on a 3 year and plan to buy the laptop dock as well, you might as well buy the phone at the retail price and avoid being locked in for 3 years….

  7. I bought the Atrix from AT&T down in the states and its not even worth the price or hardware at all. So what if its the world’s first dual core CPU powered smart phone?

Honestly, I’d take the Nexus S over any day.

I thought this was an AT&T issue? That’s what I read on the official Motorola Atrix forums and so forth.
