Rogers, Fido, TELUS, Virgin and Bell will all support iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot

With the upgrade to iOS dropping on March 11th one of the main features is the Personal Hotspot. This allows you to connect your iPhone 4 up to five devices via Wi-Fi. We’ve reached out to the carriers and Rogers, Fido, TELUS, Virgin and Bell all confirmed that they will support Personal Hotspot in the upcoming iOS 4.3 release.

– Rogers stated yesterday that “This feature will be available at no additional charge for Rogers and Fido customers who subscribe to data plans of 1GB and above”.

– Virgin said in an email to us that “Regarding the iPhone upgrade, when Apple makes this available, Members can go in to iTunes to get the upgrade and yes, they will be able to use the Mobile Hotspot. No restriction on plan or anything. However, Members will of course still be charged for any data use outside of their plan so they should make sure they have the right plan for the amount of data they’ll need”.

– Bell said “Yes, we will.. All our in-market plans support this use and we advise existing customers to check and see if their plan covers the use too.”

– TELUS stated in an email to us that “TELUS will enable the upcoming iPhone 4 iOS 4.3 Mobile Hotspot”.

So there you have it… one week to go.
