WIND offering select data-less BlackBerry users free data until April 15th

If you’re one of the chosen few that will be getting a text from WIND Mobile on your BlackBerry then you’ll have the option to get free data until April 15th. They are targeting those BlackBerry users who have only signed up only for a voice plan and are giving them the $35 Infinite BlackBerry to trial for a couple months.

According to the internal doc we received it states that select customers will receive the following text from 45878 that reads: “Hey BlackBerry user—try FREE data with our Infinite BlackBerry add-on until Apr-15. Interested? Reply Y to this message and start browsing, BBM, email & more.”

This offer is only being sent to select Pay Before and Pay After customers and once you receive the text you only have until February 27th to opt-in as the free trial starts on the 28th.

    • Updade guys.. sign up was smooth Emir in Egypt was able to sign me up but I was not getting reception much, so Kumar in the wind store said it was a sim card and said I needed to pay 25.00 for it. But his boss Raqshmish said it was fine and I got a new one. But now I have the half duplex no zone problem. after many many battery pulls I was able to get a signal 1 bar. Network builder is my fav site now! Just to day it started to work so I am getting my e-mails from last week today! I am so excited!

    • its a promotional offer, that is intended for current non-data users to sign up for data.

      How can FREE anything be UNFAIR. That’s like saying $500 discount on TVs is unfair for laptop buyers.

    • Joe, it must really rub you the wrong way to see Wind expanding their network, offering incentives and creating new plans.

    • Jonesy1966 expanding? more service.. if they would shore up the network, and get rid of the countless dead spots I am sure they would have a chance to be a real mobile company. But since we all know the ruling is not looking good.. and now that wind had blinked at the card table it is not looking good at all.. quashed.. downgraded.. terrible. have you asked wind what the half duplex is about? the real reason.. it is not the strain on the network.. it is the lack of one.. towers off line.. clean up and exit strategy no that uncle swarie has his assets frozen it does not look good.. long fight? hardly.. law suit.. lets see

      did I mention quashed and the glow in the darks veg.. what a joke.. petition.. quashed

  8. they should of done it for all smarts phone.. once i tried data i couldnt go back, not neccesary a bb thing..

    • My (uneducated) guess is that they probably sign you up but give it to you free until the 15th so you’d need to call and opt out. Just better business, really, like how Netflix asks for your credit card number before your free trial and you have to cancel.

  12. help windies send them last good bye and few cents also, what they”ll do with the mosque in their Queens Quay office after shutdown that has to transfer to other place I believe (Egypt?)
