Apple files for “Bumper” trademark


You probably know Apple’s “Bumper” best by being part of the iPhone 4 Case Program this past Summer. This was one of the options available to anyone who purchased an iPhone 4 that could potentially rid them of any reception issues. Apple has taken the time and filed a trademark application with the Patent & Trademark Office in China (application 301738837).

The trademark basically covers anything that the Bumper can fit around, so  we could probably eventually see bigger Bumpers on other devices than the iPhone 4: “Bags, cases, covers, sleeves, sheaths, and pouches for computers, mobile telephones, handheld mobile digital electronic devices, media players, personal digital assistants, global positioning system (GPS) devices, electronic organizers and electronic notepads; computers, computer peripheral devices, computer terminals” etc…
