Vidéotron focus group talks about the limitations of infinite talking (Video)

Vidéotron launched their new 3G+ network last week to much fanfare… one of the most popular devices they brought on was the Nexus One which we were informed was sold out within hours. Videotron held a “focus group” that was based around their price plans and how customers can talk until “infinity”. It’s pretty funny and worth checking out.

  1. Too bad their prices still suck if you don’t bundle it with home phone and Internet service.

Also, it’s fun how there is no mention of their pathetic data limits.

  3. Infinite voice. Finite Data. Next up. An app that modulates SMS messages over voice.

    • SMS? You know that you can send and receive an unlimited number of messages of this length with the small 50MB/$5 plan? We call this “email”. It was invented in the 60s or so, and popularized in the 90s.

  4. I like these guys. I’m sure they will move to unltd data eventually. My prediction… Videotron takes a huge chunk of customers from Quebec buyout mobilicity and expand from there.

  6. I hope Videtron has a better understanding of cell phones compared to their grasp of English and the proper use of grammar. (The text at the beginning of the video should be “its” not “it’s.”

  7. I expected Videotron not to mention in this ad that it’s unlimited only if you call other Videotron customers. They were never an honest company, and never will be.
But why does mobile syrup post an advertisement as editorial and not even mention that it’s an ad?

  9. I think actually that makes a great deal of sense,if VT continues to improve from their day of launching slightly higher prices on a better network won’t make that much of a difference and financing will be easier to get in the future to buy out Mobilicity and maybe even Wind in time who are both going nowhere-VT are the ones to watch and so far they look good. After a whole year Wind is still dealing with blocked ports/dropped calls/poor CS/units that don’t work/billing problems/tickets that get completely ignored/etc and let’s hope it happens.

  10. One more thing!

So much for the assumption that the US doesn’t want to deal with Quebec,if VT got the Nexus/the Moto on LAUNCH the chances of them also getting more new technology in the future is pretty good if these phone makers trust them/their performance that much…and what does that say about Mobilicity/Wind?

The bottom line is that Mobilicity and Wind-Orascom have no true reputation which they never may have and that’s the main reason phone developers will be very careful as to who they deal with.Imagine…VT got the Nexus on the first shot and all Wind has after a year is mostly cheap Androids with broken promises and lousy reception…you make the call girls.

    • Once again the autistic one JAWG responds with anti-Wind propaganda where it has no place. You really need to stop jerking your own “spud” guy!

  13. Can the owners of this board, ad a plugin that shows users who is posting under multiple IP addresses. I’d assume that JAWG would have like 15 or so aliases by now. What a cracker.
