Bell once again attempts to entice people with Palm Pre discounted monthly rate plans

Bell has been trying to get rid of the Palm Pre for months now. They’ve reduced it to the ripe cost of $0.00 on a 3-year or $299.95 outright. In addition, they had offered promo after promo with discounted monthly rate plans… and now dipped even lower. Bell has decided knock another $15 off the monthly price plan to hit a low $35. This is for the Smartphone 50 plan that includes 100 local minutes (plus 100 bonus local minutes), 500 MB of data, Unlimited weekends and evenings, Call Waiting and Conference Calling.

All this goodness for $35 per month. Anyone interested in giving webOS a go now?

  1. Too bad the Pre is a terrible device. WebOS is amazing though. Hurry up with new devices HP ;) .

  2. I encouraged my uncle to buy one about a year ago before Palm bottomed out and was sold. The hardware is a little flimsy, but the OS is quite fast and solid. Battery leaves a lot to be desired though, not lasting the whole day with moderate use. But at $35/month, an enticing deal indeed

  4. This isn’t exactly new. This deal has been on Bell’s site for almost the past two month’s (if not longer).

    • Yeah. Actually the save $15/month on a 3 year contract has been going on ever since June 1. Even mobilesyrup did an article on it on June 1. OLD NEWS! lol

  5. I’ve been to buy one, and do some programming for it. Especially now that HP will be putting the OS into other devices.

Alas, it’s not available here in Manitoba.

  6. I really wanna try webOS that every developer praises, but with 3-year plan?…. I’d rather go for 1-year plan and pay $100 for the device.

  8. This is pretty disappointing on MobileSyrup’s part. It’s just not like them to be this out of the loop this much.

  9. If you look at “Related Posts” above, #2 is the original article from June 1st.

  10. Omg, omg, MobileSyrup messed up and reported something they already reported before, again! Oh the horrors! Wires got crossed and they thought they missed it! We must all shun them for this! So disappointing, that the place we get all this information so far in advance is behind for once. Terrible, terrible.

    • Bell has a warehouse full of obsolete Palm Pre phones. They are trying to give them away. On the other hand Apple can’t make theirs fast enough.

  13. If there ever was a reason for NOT getting a 3-year plan, this is it. This is a totally locked and obsolete CDMA device and when it croaks a year or two from now you will be stuck with a cheap plan and no phone since the plan is locked to that particular model. This is what happened to people who had the HTC Touch with Bell and the $5/month unlimited browser.

Also note that their $35 plan has no call display, no voice mail, no text, etc.
