Wind has come out with a new service called “Safe Port” that makes it easier to copy and back up your contacts. This service seems to be free and you basically import all your Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Outlook and Facebook contacts to the Wind website. Reading over the details it says you can edit, change, delete, add and then copy everything over to your Wind device. This “Safe Port” can come in handy when you are thinking of porting over from another carrier or if you’ve lost your phone it acts as a backup. They also state that they can bring over your pics and text messages “at no charge”.

Check it out here at Wind

How about they work on “no block port” instead of “safe port”.

  • TylerM

    @ Joe ABSOLUTELY!

  • Mike

Adding more value for the consumer.
    Go WIND go!!!

  • Reggie Noble

I tried it. It works great!

  • MCCANS

No support for Non-Wind phones. It appears only to work with Wind’s phones not unlocked phones.

  • donald

You really want to hand over all your friends’ and associates’ personal information to Wind? There are lots of tools to do this without giving away personal information.

  • Rock

it is really good , i like it , you rock

  • JAWG

Nine months and the ports are still locked on purpose…real value!Adding absolutely nothing for the consumer…they still have extremely poor reception in Hamilton/Oakville one of the major home zones/poor tower installations/dropped calls/lousy customer service/unresolved tickets for the majority/phones that don’t mesh well/so on/so on/so on.

    Wind is crap!

      @Jawg
No one is holding a gun to your head to stay with Wind. If you dont like their service, change service carriers…simple. theres no contract that locks you in…exit and be gone…

No one likes or wants to hear a cry baby, like you, constantly whining, complaining, bitching about Wind. Leave and be gone.

Doesnt the same go for any new company? anyways I love WIND

    GO WIND GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SonyBoy

Wind sucks big time,a useless provider and not worth the money at any price.Even with great phones their service is useless and the worse Customer Service I ever came across. Most of them are probably here trying to keep their jobs by lying to the public.

  • Somebody

    SonyBoy works for rogers.

  • SonyBoy

It’s better than being a Wind troll!

Sorry I’m with Bell now and a great plan that I can actually use.

    You guys are total losers.

  • rkarsk

Racism: Completely unsurprised that it’s coming from the Rogers fanboys. Bravo….

    • Rocco StiffReddi

Umm they are wind fan boys.. sorry charlie.

how about the toronto network outage!!!! awesome.. and winf has NO idea what the problem is! fantastic!

  • JAWG (The Real One)

Of course Wind/Tony the Gigolo will blame anyone that doesn’t work for Rogers and is only enjoying great service…HILARIOUS!

  • JAWG (The Real One)

    @Rocco:

I was just watching the new Chat-r ad on TV and it was so appropriate, they were talking about how all the New Entrants have dropped calls that go PUFF…kind of goes with the Wind BBQ ad where it just goes up in flames.

    Reality TV!!!

I left Wind long ago because they are garbage without ever buying a phone,I’m just stating facts like Rocco and many others…the Fanboys are the ones who are whining/bitching/etc because they can’t handle the truth.

Funny you made no comments on the Fakes using racism to silence people and almost all of them are Windies.

  • Rocco StiffReddi

so wind employees want a union huh and they had to play nice for Orascoms visit.. how interesting how the company that according to jabroni has NO direct input in the daily operations is really running the show.. also look at the massive deleting spree on the wind forums.. terrible fair and open? gooooo jabroni!
