Solo Mobile now offering Unlimited plans in 5 Zones
Solo Mobile officially re-launched their brand today by changing up their homepage of their website and offering customers the same CDMA devices they’ve always had in their lineup. There’s options of going on a 2-year contract, no-term/Prepaid. Solo still has several plans to choose from but the newest is the Unlimited plans that we posted a couple days ago. In addition, these Unlimited plans are “zone based” just like Chatr, Mobilicity, Fido and Wind and are located in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Vancouver.
The “Unlimited Talk 35″ is for $35 a month and gives you Unlimited Incoming calls (in your zone), Unlimited Outgoing province-wide calling (in your zone), Unlimited Incoming Texts, 50 Outgoing texts to Canada & U.S. (additional texts are $0.10), Call Display, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding and 3-way Calling. Voicemail is $5 more per month.
The “Unlimited Talk & Text 45″ is for $45 per month and gives you Unlimited Incoming calls (in your zone), Unlimited Outgoing Canada-wide calling (in your zone), Unlimited Incoming Texts, Unlimited outgoing texts to Canada & U.S., Call Display, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding and 3-way Calling. Voicemail is included.

Why don’t they be truly innovative and come up with some new ideas. All Chatr and Solo Unlimited is doing is comping WIND.
More than anything, this is why I hate the Canadian wireless scene. They all hav basically the identical plans. There is no creativity.

It’s just goes to show you how pathetic the big 3 are, Koodo was launched in fear of new entrants by Telus. Chat-r by rogers and now re-launch of bell.
The only reason they’re doing this is to eliminate the competition and go back to the way they used to do things.
I’m just going to stick to Wind, where they don’t need to lie in one brand and cheat in another. Honest from the beginning, honest to the end.

i****s! if Solo/Rogers, whatever. They ARE doing EVERYTHING that is expected. If it wasn’t for Wind, you wouldn’t get these lower price plans. you are a moron Jon, for asking why don’t they do something “truly innovative”. what the hell do they care about doing something innovative to help your cause? they are doing what is expected – lowering prices.
doesn’t matter if it is being done on the rogers brand or not – the overall effect is that from Rogers Corporation point of view, they are on average reducing talk and text plans. yep. you bet they are in line with wind. why would they do anything else? they don’t need to. they have a better network. anything more ‘innovative’ would be very foolish for them.
check your rrsp or pension plan – you probably own some Rogers or Bell stock, so don’t be so quick to ask them to start giving you wireless for free – your cheaper cell phone plan may come at the expense of lower retirement savings down the road.
be careful what you wish for.
i keep saying it and i’ll say it again, these companies are businesses – not charities. they are not here to give you a helping hand (neither is Wind Mobile for that matter)

If you really want competition, then don’t support the big 3…. As soon as they have removed the new carriers, the deals are over! They are going to say the new carriers drop calls and they do! Get over it, Rogers used to drop calls for years in a couple of places out west. It almost became a funny joke. You would tell the caller I am just about to hit the spot where I don’t have access to a cell tower and suddenly the caller was dropped! As they build out the new carriers build out the network things improve.
Support Wind, Public Mobile and others. Otherwise, we are back to the 3 way price fixing Monopoly.

I love that all these plans are in big cities where everyone has more money. How about bringing this competition to small town cities where we have been railroaded by the big three for far too long

I hate to say this but some of you are complete morons!
Many on here are pushing to destroy the Big Three giving false impressions that the New Entrants are much better and will help our economy/mobile industry to repair itself,if that actually happened do you know how many people/companies/industries/etc would suffer greatly and what state our communication services/networks would be in…to make things worse do you actually believe Wind/Mobilicity/PM would assist us to survive without making a fast buck worse than what we have now with our established corporations and not gouge us even deeper.
Most of the Fanboys remarking are programmed teens with no brains who never contributed,never looked at this issue sensibly and all they do is promote something that is void of any logic,all they do is demand cheaper rates so they can play on their Androids all day to look cool and think this is what will make our nation grow…what a sad joke.
Furthermore,to support Wind with an extremely corrupt backer like Orascom shows you have no class or ability to do basic research and need to be part of a gang to silence people to hide the truth…explains why Canada is so f****d up.

The New Entrants are doing absolutely nothing for our future and eventually if they are bought out it’s because they didn’t have the integrity to build sound networks/services.If customers go to Chat-r/Solo/etc it’s because they want to be with companies that are more reliable and not because they are corrupt,the Big Three including their associated brands have contributed a lot to our economy/people in the past building this country and if their prices are higher there is obviously a demand for what they offer just like all businesses making a profit…sometimes you save by paying more and with the significant customer increases for all the Big Three proves the Fanboys are dead wrong.
Furthermore,look at 75% of all the threads on MS…promoting/advising/selling the best phones available and almost all through contracts-this is reality and the way things are as to why the Big Three will remain powerful with their technological benefits.
If you want meaningful improvements fight the CRTC/Government to make real changes like in Europe,not to allow Mickey Mouse companies like the New Entrants into the market and permit them to operate like third class opportunists…Wind still hasn’t got it’s billing problems in order and supposedly Orascom is a world leader in billing software.

What do you get out of all this bashing of wind? It seems its all you do. Its almost if you have no life at all. You most certainly do not have a girlfriend, wife or boyfriend, that much is clear as no self respecting person could put up with that caustic attitude and total lack of personality, motivation or creativity.
Seriously, you need to go out and get a hooker, slap her around some and feel superior about it, that seems the type of classy thing you would do… work off some of that angst that wind mobile is causing you. It must seem horrible that a phone company has caused you so much personal distress, anxiety and fear, that you cannot now cope as a functioning member of society.
Instead of hiding in your mommies basement, why not contact the real news, or your politician, spread the word on how wind has cause you such tremendous and irrepairable harm. I am sure posting it on mobile phone blogs isn’t really harming wind or its 100000 customers, and you certainly have ZERO credibility to any intelligent person who reads a single one of your posts. The constant crying and bitching is getting old, and all your posts eventually become hidden anyway…its time to regroup and try a different approach, if anything you are causing harm to rogers, unless they are aiming for the demented tinfoil hat wearing demographic which you so eloquently represent with each nonsensical orascom fairy tale..

It seems wind employees have hijacked this thread. I know wind ips have been told they have done the same in many forums. Wind came out dishonest from the start. I am switchng from wind to solo.

Bitter much? Or maybe, if anything, YOU’RE the one who is a desperate wireless employee. Only instead of working for wind, you were hired by Rogers, bell, or telus.
Whatever. Solo and chatr bring new options for Canadian consumers, but are hurting bell and rogers’ bottom lines. Incumbants will have to look for ways to offer more value to consumers in order to remain competitive, and there will always be individuals who are pissed at the big 3 who will stick with these newcomers.
