Bell is almost set to release the Android-based Galaxy S Vibrant. This will be hitting store shelves on the 6th. Last week we were sent info on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant launch event. This is the one that will be taking over Toronto’s Front Street with “an unforgettable experience that’s sure to rock the city core”. The band is supposed to be a big surprise but people have guessed who will be playing.
The details and the last “hint” that was sent to us is the following:
What: Street concert event open to the public
When: August 4, 2010 – Show starts at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Union Station – Union Square Plaza, 65 Front Street West
Who: Have you figured it out yet?
Here’s a clue: I wonder who this band is going to be? Is it the Beatles or could it be the Rolling Stones?
Also, this is “unconfirmed” but here’s a hint of who we think it is:
I am hoping to win a phone…..hint hint.

A pretty auspicious launch, even if it is the first Android superphone to hit our shores (or possibly second if the Desire launches soon). Once the iPhone 4 buzz wears down, I wonder if this is something that Bell is going to push as a flagship device. Here’s hoping they price it close to the rumoured $79.99 for the Desire.

My girlfriend went to Best Buy today and got one outright for $499. It was the last one, they had at least 3, the rep at Best Buy told me they knew for a week that it was coming out today. This is in Nova Scotia. BTW The phone is gorgeous, screen amazing, very fast. and awesomely thin. No cases at Best Buy yet tho, she’s being very careful with it.

this is the flagship bell device.. iphone is a ‘need to carry’ device’ not a ‘want to carry device’, from a carrier’s POV..

Wide Mouth Mason is one of the absolute best Canadian bands. They just finished touring for the summer, but it could be them.

You’ve got it with metric. No way it would be anyone else with that line.
Now I wish I could find an excuse to make it there for the launch <_ < but I’m working, natch.
