Apple reminds us the iPhone 4 is available Friday

Apple has sent out a press release stating that Canada and 16 other countries will be getting the new iPhone 4 on Friday: “Beginning this Friday, customers can purchase iPhone 4 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. iPhone 4 will be available for purchase through Apple’s retail and online stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.”

Currently the Canadian carriers that have promised to sell the iPhone 4 are Rogers, Fido, Bell, TELUS and Virgin. No word on official pricing but in other countries the 16GB model is available for $199 and the 32GB model is available for $299. The new iPhone will only be available in black with the white version coming later this year.

    • And by the amount of disagrees I’ve gotten so far, I can tell at least 5 morons from this site will be lining up for Fridays launch.

    • Not necessarily. I clicked “disagree” on your comment and I have no intention of getting an iPhone, let alone lining up for it.

      People are free to buy what ever they want with the money they earn. They’re also free to stand in line, order on line or not get at all, anything they want. It doesn’t mean they need to get a life or that they’re a “moron”. It just means they look at this particular aspect differently from you or I.

      What’s more sad, is that you don’t see someone else’s choices that have no effect on you, as viable for them even though it may not be for you.

  8. I’ve officially downgraded my iPhone 3G to iPod touch status and am not using the HTC Legend.

    They can keep the iPhone 4.

  14. As much as I love the look I can not support Apple on this one. By purchasing this phone it only reinforces to them that marketing is stronger then the product itself.

    I will wait to see what Blackberry or the Android Manufacturers have to offer.

While I will likely indeed get the iPhone 4 (I freely admit I’m a sucker for Apple products), what I truly am waiting for with baited breath is the Blackberry slider 9800, rumoured to launch in October/November. Everything the iPhone 4 has, but with the ability to push e-mail and awesome personalization features.

  22. Of course I will. Going from the 3G, it’s much smoother, faster, best screen res for any smartphone, face-time, video camera + editing, better cam w/flash, voice-dialing (which I didn’t have in 3G), multi-tasking, better wallpaper customization, etc.

    I’m not an Apple “fanboy” whatsoever, but there’s simply no phone better than an iPhone.
