Public having a BOGO deal for a free ZTE C78 on July 10th

Here’s probably the best promo that Public Mobile has ever offered. Almost as good as the free Unlimited long distance for life deal. Hopefully all the Montreal network problems are solved because on July 10th Public is giving out a free ZTE C78. There’s a catch though as it’s basically a buy one get one free deal.

To celebrate the FIFA World Cup they state on their blog that “For one day only, July 10th, Public Mobile will give a free ZTE C78 phone to everyone who buys any regularly priced Public Mobile phone. Sign both up for one of our unlimited plans, and you’ll have unlimited talk in time for the finals.”

  2. Isn’t bad enough having to sign up one nearly useless phone? I have to sign two? What, unlimited talk between myself? I will consider it when I develop multiple personalities. PASS!

  4. Man, i give this company a few more months maby a year. They have no idea of their demographic. In cities like Toronto and Montreal people tend to leed towards smartphones especially in the 2 most technological centers in Canada. If they are doing deals this early in their life cycle, i dont see them lasting more than 2 years. Wind and even Mobilicity have the right vision.

  5. I took my phone back yesterday and went with Virgin. Couldn’t take not receiving my call,then having to check my vm all the time. I give them 1 year then go bankrupt!

  7. Wind and Mobilicity are NOT in Montreal. What other new carrier is in Montreal? Public Mobile is on a tear there, so lets not be so short sighted. They have market from Windsor all the way up to Quebec City. Can you say that about Wind and Mobilicity? Its has its nuances like ever other carrier. So lets not be too short sighted here. Lets not forget that the majority of phones by telus, bell, solo, virgin still out there are cdma. So Public Mobile has unique offering and people of Montreal has alternative choice now. So hurray for them in a market NOT serviced by Wind and Mobilicity.

  8. Wind was heavily criticized at the beginning too.

    Mobilicity and Public will have the same woes as Wind did at the beginning.

    They will improve, but Wind will be the main new player.

  9. Dosent matter if wind or mobilicity are not in Montreal, they are everywere else. Do u Honestly think once videotron launches their mobil brand public will be a factor? hell no!! Public is running on an ancient network so for them to have the same problems as wind and mobilicity is sad and pathetic. Maby if they had stopped whinning about ownership and fixed thier network they would be in much better shape. Plus i dont see the point of paying 100+$ for a loner phone when i can get them for cheaper at any other retailer.

  10. I have it for a week. It s not bad for the dealt. The network is a bit shaky beacause they have been just starting to build them. It happened to Roger and Bell at the first time when I had with them. Bell is suck by overcharging, Roger is good but non offer unlimited, i got caught a few times and pay big money for them. Time to be free and Why not if I get another for free. As they state in their coverage it will be full in Montreal in this September.

  11. I believe that, public has it good in the future. Clients will have unlimited coverage throughout the 401 (from Windsor to Quebec). Where as Wind or Mobilicity (especially) does not show any sign of significant network growth.

    As with CDMA network, the future development of LTE means public does not have to spend a vast amount of time or infrastructure to accomodate for newer technology.

    Right now the network IS shakey, but if you’re all saying public is going down and bankrupt, I believe not. Just my $.02

Honnestly,i understand the frustration of some costumers , but what do you expect ? as if the big companies never had one glitch! okay i get that the service ISNT perfect, but they never said it would be !obviously you guys are expecting great coverage but they still are a new company so just be patient with them you will NEVER find deals like this. and about the handsets, who cares ?
