Bell releases $15/month Unlimited Mobile Browser Palm Pre promo

Thanks to a tipster who let us know that Bell has a new $15 monthly Unlimited Mobile Browser promo specifically for the Palm Pre. According to the internal doc we received it states that “Bell Mobility is introducing the Palm Pre Unlimited Mobile Browser feature, providing new and existing Palm Pre clients with an opportunity to have on device unlimited mobile browsing to surf the Web without the worry of incurring additional data charges. Note: This does not include tethering.”

No-contract price is $299.95… plus the previous promo that Bell gives you is $15 off your plan for the entire duration of your contract (when you get it on a 3-year for $0.00). All sounds pretty tempting… anyone going for a Pre now?

  1. Are there any “apps” available for the Pre?

  2. It’s either or, you can’t combine them. The $15 off is on Smartphone Combo plans that already include data.

The $15 unlimited browser promo is something you’d add to an existing voice plan.

  4. This is still a great phone though still last years tech compared to the iPhone 4 and Nexus One. But with the plans that cheap it’s tempting!

  7. Does this include videos and all that, not just browsing? There’s probably a cap right?

  8. they are obviously stuck with a warehouse full of these things and can’t give them away. Once HP delivers the next generation HSPA Palm will become interesting again but don’t expect this deal to be available for the new models.

  9. Is it just me or does it look like Bell’s trying to dump their remaining stock of Palm Pre’s. They aren’t offering any kind of sweetheart deals on any of their other phones.

  13. IF ANYONE WANTS TO GET THIS.

    Call into 611 and quote “palm m b u f”

palmmbuf is the code for this data option. Most agents have no idea that it exists.

  14. My family has 4 Palm Pre’s, three of them are on the 500Mb data plan and one is on the unlimited Fab10 student plan.

What’s interesting is that ALL 4 phones data usage sessions are NEVER higher than 0.0977 Megs thereby making it pretty much impossible to exceed 500Mb in any given month.

So, IMO, the $15 Unlimited mobile browser is a cash grab aimed at suckering those folks who didn’t notice their data usage is not tracked properly to begin with.

  15. @Teej
The real usage is tracked on Bell’s end. Yes, your correct, the sessions in unbilled usage is capped at 100kb.
This new option, if it really does exist, is great for people like me who have an older voice plan, and currently paying for a full dataplan as an addon.

  16. ummm this is a good deal…

    15$’s vs 25 or 35 or more.

One day when bell actually counts proper 100%… then what?

Get a nice cheap retentions deal on a renewal or an existing plan /addon this 15$ bundle. Works nicely

  17. Be careful. The Palm is AMAZING however Bell isn’t. They quoted me the $15 promotion when I ordered my phone. However, when my bill cam in the promotion was NOT on it. Worse than that, when I called Customer Service to get my promotion, they wold not give it to me unless I changed to a higher price plan, so in the end there is no discount. Whenever you get an order from Bell, get the quote with all the terms in writing before you accept.
