Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to get 2.1 upgrade Q4 2010

Sony Ericsson has confirmed on their blog that the Xperia X10 family of devices will receive an upgrade to OS 2.1 in Q4 2010. This includes the recently launched X10 and also the rumoured Rogers launch of the  Xperia X10 mini and Xperia X10 mini pro. Sony Ericsson says that some “examples of user benefits that will be included in the UXP upgrade for Xperia X10 in Q4 2010 are:
– Upgrade to Android OS version 2.1
– HD video recording as per the same execution as Sony Ericsson Vivaz
– Wireless home connectivity via DLNA
– Improvements to signature applications Timescape and Mediascape “.

With all the goodness the X10 has to offer: Mediascape, 4-inch display, WiFi, 8.1 megapixel camera… a feature that’s user say is still missing from the device is multi-touch. A few weeks back Harold de Kort, Communications Manager at Sony Ericsson said that “Multi-touch will not be a feature in future updates for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10”.
