Rogers Xperia X10 price plans, ships with 16GB microSD card

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is one of those anticipated devices that people are looking forward to getting their hands on. It’s going to be available soon  in both White and Black and shipments have started to hit Rogers already.

We got our hands on the full spec sheet and upcoming price plans. We already knew that the Android-powered X10 will be available on a 3-year promo price for $149.99 and the no-contract price is at $549.99. New info for you regarding the other price plans: 2-year contract is set at $449.99 and the MTM/1-year contract is available for $499.99. These are all with a $45 monthly Voice and Data plan.

In addition, if you checked out the X10 promo video you might have heard that Rogers will be including a 16GB microSD Card, this is now confirmed. You’ll be able to access the Android Market and get all your apps (free & paid). Also, the X10 will be running Android OS 1.6 and there’s rumour of an upgrade coming sometime in the future, but solid date. As you’ll read below, the internal doc states that Rogers is targeting “Socially connected young adults” and wants them to “Experience a whole new level of connectedness with the Xperia X10″.

  1. I hate their 3 year contracts. I was going to buy this phone if the 2 year contract was just a little more expensive, but it’s really expensive.
    Sorry Rogers…

  3. @Connor: Unfortunately, it’s that way with all Canadian carriers.

  4. While I’m all happy for the X10, I’m not happy with Rogers and their price point. It just seems like every phone that gets released costs $549 or $599. I’d be more inclined to buy at cost if the prices were more competitive than the standard $550 price tag every new device.

  5. what’s with everyone still using Android 1.6 and no HSPA+ support. I hope the HTC Evo 4G (i might have the name wrong) comes to Canada [Android 2.1, WiMax or HSPA+ (if they are launching a Canadian version)]

  6. Google Nexus One people. This phone fails which is very sad. Timescape is a fun concept, but the phone can’t handle the amount of contacts people actually have. It bogs down and the phone just can’t keep up. Add in Android 1.6, way behind, Nexus One Google’s baby will get all updates first, and the phone is blazing responsive. I love Sony but the SE department has been a disaster the last 5 years.

  7. @really

The Htc evo 4g will not come to canada as it is Wiimax. If it does come to canada it will be hspa/lte and we won’t be seeing that for awhile as no carrier has given a date to when they are launching their lte network

  8. if you are not willing to go for 3 years then pay the extra and get a nexus one unlocked direct from google. people need to stop getting 3 year contracts for them to stop this crazy pricing scheme.

  14. The INQ just reviewed this phone for the UK.

Rogers is screwing their customers yet again.

“Most networks now feature the Xperia X10 free on a contract, or the mobile can be purchased SIM free for around £450.”

  15. Have you converted 450 UK pounds into CAN$ > 693.349 CAN$ hello difference… so rogers higher on commitment but lower without subsidy, sound competitive to me! (on Rogers point of view of course)

  16. the thing people dont realize is the price that rogers actually pays for it i know for a fact that even selling the phone on a MTM they still lose money on the handset look at the phone do you really think its cheap? its amazing as it is that its coming out as cheaper then the iphone 3GS.// look at all of the features u just read u really think all that stuffs not worth anything please?.. we usually haev the same price as the us for a 3 year contract as they do for a 2 year contract but look at the difference the states probably has more people with cellphones then the whole population of canada rogers is taking a huge loss on it so that in its lucky that the phones being released at the price point if ur not wiling to pay 149.99 on a 3 year then maybe u should go for a lg xenon or something thats just touch screen. nothings free in life u really need to realize that.

  19. I really hate to hear others bashing Roger, I have had such good experiences with them. Hears a hint. We went phone shopping at the stores, but if you want a really good price call the Call Centre Sales department.

We were able to get onto a 3 year contract family plan, get a great deal on the price of our phones. I found out the sales center has way more promotions to offer as far as discounts than the stores do. Just waiting for our phones to be shipped. So we saved over 105.oo in discounts….wow it was great.

My recommendation, phone Rogers and ask what kind of promo’s they are able to give you, you’d be surprised. Lets face it the other companies charge the same prices for phones you buy outright.

    I am a happy customer.
