New entrant Public Mobile officially opened stores on March 18th, they offer customers a flat rate $40 monthly talk and text plan for those located in Toronto and Montreal. A very attractive price point for those looking for a basic device. Public also has their first promo going that if you sign up they’ll give you free Unlimited Canadian long distance for life.
What’s even more impressive and odd at the same time is the low cost carrier has set up their own Podcast channel in iTunes. There is only one track available now and it’s their catchy “Hold On-Hold” music that customers hear when placed on hold. Perhaps Public will start a regular podcast show with news and info about their wireless offerings…
