We have more updates for the upcoming Rogers Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. As we let you know a few days ago this Android-powered device will be priced at $149.99 on a 3-year contract and also $549.99 no contract. In addition, we’ve been informed that Rogers will be making an announcement on the 12th and we originally heard the release date was to be between April 7 – 14th is now set for an official launch of April 15th!
Thanks to a few tipsters from across Canada, you’ll notice some prices and pics of what Rogers employees are going through to learn all about the X10.

This “tipster from across Canada” would be in Quebec?

Not too bad of a non-contract price.

WHY IS THIS MISSING MULTI-TOUCH?
Here’s to hoping the Liquid will be cheaper than this.

I still don’t believe that the lack of Multi-touch is a hardware issue. I will wait till the phone is released and see if the multi-touch roms will work with this.
and ya I am wondering about the liquid too.

At that no contract price might as well buy a nexus one or milestone.

I don’t see why everyone is bashing this phone. Hardware wise all the touch screen Android phones are almost identical. And the thing I love most about android is the fact that you can flash any ROM you want on. So this phone has a slightly larger screen than the nexus one and a better camera. The only thing is multi-touch support but I would be willing to bet that despite the supposed hardware flaw it will work.

If it is a hardware problem then software cannot fix it, some ppl already have this phone n they tried multitouch softwares;it didn’t work. Sorry u lost ur bet.

“the fact that you can flash any ROM you want on.”
No, you can’t. The phone is locked to a crappy 1.6 customised ROM. That means no 2.1 until SE/Rogers decides you are worthy!
Anyone who buys this phone (or any Android phone) from Rogers must like being punished. The debacle with the Dream/Magic proves that Rogers barely even knows what Android is, let alone knowing how to provide support and software updates. Android is a great platform, but Rogers seems intent on ruining the experience. This phone is just another on the list.

actually it is possible to flash roms without the help of rogers. you just need to root your phone and then you can access a lot more stuff. and even if it takes a long time for rogers/sony to put out updates there are always devs working on roms and cooking up new roms. all this is without the help of rogers or sony.

Well the big question is when are they going to update it. It could be a long ways out.
