SaskTel releases OS 5.0.0.517 for the BlackBerry Storm2… a device they don’t offer yet

SaskTel just released the BlackBerry Curve 8530 and we know the Storm2 9550 is on the list of upcoming devices they are planning to launch… but confirmation is always good!

This time the fine folks over at SakTel have officially released OS 5.0.0.517 for the BlackBerry Storm 2. This is a good move for all the TELUS Storm2 owners though… you can download the upgrade and from what we hear the speed improves! As usual, make sure you back up all your info before doing so… get it here via BlackBerry

  2. Just installed on Telus Storm 2.
Issue with back button not working on a flat surface is fixed.
Response when changing between portrait and landscape “seems” to be faster, although this might be placebo effect.

  3. After a few days of using the new OS, there’s actually not much noticeable difference.
The blue glow around keyboard keys when touched is more pronounced.
The hardware lock (pressing power button) only locks the screen now, locks and unlocks very quickly, and doesn’t prompt for password if enabled.
