Paid apps finally come to Canadian Android Market!

Remember at the end of February when Google Canada spokesperson Wendy Rozeluk spoke about the lack of paid apps in the Android Market… she said “There are many factors that come into play to make sure the selling and purchasing processes run smoothly. It takes time to bring support to more countries, which is something we are working hard to do”.

I guess they were working hard as paid apps have finally been pushed out! All you need to do is access the Market and find the paid apps you want (still lists only in US or British Pounds) but the progress is good! Nice work Google!

(Thanks Scott!)

  7. damn fine!

I used to be able to access paid apps using Market Enabler, but after Rogers’ forced update killed my 1.6 Donut ROM I lost my root access, and hence the paid apps. Nice to get it back again now!

  14. Still nothing for telus. Nothing like dropping the ball again. Just wait until the other providers have the 2.1 update and TELUS botches that. Just pitiful!

  16. I’m pretty sure that most of us have rooted by now
and have been using market enabler for quite some time
but it’s nice that it’s finally official
    took them long enough.

  18. With paid apps in the Android Market now available, can the Nexus One be far behind? Let’s hope it arrives soon (and on the big three in addition to WIND).

  20. I rooted my milestone 1 week ago partially to have paid apps.

Anyone knows the value of gsm.sim.operator.numeric for Telus?

Be curious to check it out. Currently works fine with Fido.
