“El Tabador” created to help Kodoo sign up customers

Gotta hand it to Koodo Mobile as they do come out with some creative way to get attention. This time they have dropped that weird Gingerbread man and created an WWE/Ultimate Fighter with “El Tabador” who wants you to “Tab-In”.

The whole premise is to promote their Tab system and how you can get a device for $0.00 without a fixed-term contract. We say… bring on the HSPA devices!!!

  1. Still going to remain on Wind and wait for Mobilicity therefore both companies can get us better rates. The tab is nice but the rates are, well meh.

  2. I switched to Koodo from Wind and at least my calls go through. I don’t care how cheap Wind may seem to some, which it isn’t, if you can’t make a call what good is it?

  3. Not to mention the fact that Koodo is not on Telus’ HSPA network. So the only phones you can use on it are Koodo CDMA phones.

  5. How is this character an Ultimate Fighter? It’s clearly a Mexican WWE wrestler. “El Tabador”? HELLO! And there’s no tapping in or out in ultimate fighting as there is in WWE wresting (i.e. “Tab-in”).

  6. Rob, it’s pretty clearly laid out in their brochures. I’m not a fan of Koodo or their outdated CDMA rubbish phones but the Tab, while a bit hard to understand, isn’t really hiding anything.

“HELLO! And there’s no tapping in or out in ultimate fighting as there is in WWE wresting (i.e. “Tab-in”).”

MMA/UFC does actually have tapping-out. “Tap Out” is a very successful MMA clothing line Mr. Know-it-all. There’s also an MMA fighter that looks just like this guy (wears a similar mask). I think his name is Sakuraba.

Not saying this guy is an MMA fighter. He’s clearly a cheesy Mexican wrestling character.

  10. El Tabador reminded me of Loco Toledo. If you google search Loco Toledo, you will see a facebook group and that advertising campaign – both offered by a UK train operating company called “Southern”.
