Works great when I need to get net access with my netbook and am away from any WiFi hotspots. Kids love it on trips for their laptops and iTouchs. I can see the use of shared 3G access for mobile folks, but think a larger data plan and a smartphone is a better solution than paying for a separate data account and using a dedicated 3G hotspot device.
