WWF Canada releases BlackBerry Earth Hour app

“Earth Hour” is coming up on Saturday, March 27 at 8:30p.m. and is an initiative that encourages people to turn off their lights for one hour to show their support for action on climate change. WWF Canada has created a BlackBerry app that can keep you updated on all the happenings around the world. The app can be downloaded for free in the App World and ties in Twitter feeds, official Earth Hour countdown and allows you to view photo from around the world.

Gerald Butts, President and CEO, WWF-Canada said “The goal of Earth Hour is to inspire the world to act together to help fight climate change. The Earth Hour application will allow us to connect people around the world for Earth Hour via their BlackBerry smartphones, and we are proud to have created the application in Canada – a global leader in the campaign.”

Check it out here in the App World
