Vidéotron has announced their Q4 results and now have over 83,000 mobile subscribers. The more important part of the report is the astonishing high level of customer service. Videotron offers TV, Internet, Cable, Home Phone and Wireless services and when they officially roll out their HSPA network this Summer will be even greater competition to the Big 3.
They like other communications companies offer bundle packages and they stated that they have a 97% overall and 99% customer satisfaction rate. CEO Robert Dépatie said it’s “Almost perfection”. So while other companies are striving to have better customer service, Videotron is well ahead of the game. Dépatie specifically said about their upcoming launch that “lessons taught us recently, from the new entrants – don’t be too pressured to go to the market. Make sure that your network is well built, [and has] good coverage”.
Scotia Capital analyst Jeff Fan commented that “Vidéotron is not like Wind Mobile. If Vidéotron’s wireless doesn’t work out well, there’s going to be a potential knock-on effect on the other services.”
For those Vidéotron subscribers, are you planning to get a new wireless device when the HSPA network launches? Will you bundle it all in together and if the network is not reliable will you ditch it and go back to another carrier?

I’d definitely check out what they are offering when the HSPA network launches. I’ve been bundling TV, Internet and home phone with them for 3 years, if they had great plans then I’d bundle my mobile phone with them also.

I’ve been with Videotron for my home internet & cable TV for ages. Never a problem and I’m satisfied with the service.
I’ll consider moving to Videotron from Virgin Mobile prepaid IF Videotron offers prepaid cellular service at some point, and a decent choice of cellular phones to go with it. Videotron’s current phone lineup is dismal and I’m not interested anything but prepaid.

I’ve read that their HDPA network won’t use the same 3G frequencies (850/1900 MHz) as the Rogers/Bell/Telus networks.
Any news on that?

I have been with Videotron cable internet for almost 4 years. I have found their service excellent, but their prices high. I have a feeling they’ll be doing the same with their new HSPA network.
If the prices are fair and there are no ridiculous additional system access fees or fees for caller id etc, then I will give them a try. In fact I’m holding off buying a smartphone until I see what Videotron are going to offer.

I have bundled cable tv and high speed internet and they cap me at 30 gig’s for my internet download! and charge $49 plus tax for that part of my bundle. I don’t believe they have a high customer service rating, I sure wouldn’t rate them very high. I dont know how can your say that you have a high costumer service rating when there is no other cable company providing service in the same areas to compare too?

All this is pure PR and BS, since when the business practices of Videotron are any different from Robbers or the other thugs in the market. Their service is overpriced, everybody forgot the last strike and the way they treat their employees.
