Pics of the rumoured BlackBerry slider surface

Last week a blurry picture surfaced of the very much rumoured Blackberry slider. The image showed a mixed design similar to the Storm2 with a Tour/Bold keyboard. A new image of what looks to be the first real live image of an early prototype slider that RIM is working on… possibly the Storm3. What do you think of it?

  1. I think I just found the device I want for if/when my storm dies…

  2. RIM has officially dropped the ball and lost it. Seriously, this is almost sad. The storm didn’t work. The storm2 ISN’T working. This, is garbage. RIM needs to understand hardware isn’t the problem (or the solution). Focus on your software, simple as that. 5.0, 6.0, all this s**t isn’t going to help. Pushing out massive amounts of devices, and touting anything besides the curve/bold line is a waste of time (and ultimately money you could have spent improving your operating system).

So anyways, point is, if you want someone to point you in a non-suicidal direction, fire me an email (or any of the hundreds of thousands of your customers that would say the same thing).

  6. Looks like it has the Palm Pre design.. Not ugly at all, just not very blackberry-ish at all.

  7. This phone woould have been nice a couple years ago when it would have actually been “groundbreaking”.

Blackberry OS is full of issues. I’m currently trying not to rip my eyes out as I’m stuck with a BB 8900. Slow browser, slow everything.

I would not consider BB again unless they did some major changes to their OS.

Looking forward to some good android phones coming to Canada. Can’t wait to get rid of this 8900.

  8. Problems began when Blackberry was trying to become someone else (aka the Storm 1).

They really should focus on fixing their crappy OS and get back to basics and what they really are : a business messaging device.

For example where are the modern built-in apps, threaded messaging and advanced sync PIM features that the new Palm OS have?

And a browser that really works isnt a luxury in 2010.

Someone isnt doing its job at RIM.
