Bell giving out 100 free minutes starting February 1st

Bell is feeling the joy… could be post holiday season or pre Olympic spirit. The good news for current post paid customers is that starting February 1st until February 14th Bell is giving you 100 free local minutes. To get them will take a bit of work as you’ll actually have to walk into a Bell location.

So if you want the 100 minutes just remember to keep focused and open the door, walk in and say you want the free airtime. Don’t listen or be influenced by any upgrade or new plan offerings. Keep focused and when it’s over remember to say thank you and walk out.

The fine print on the promo reads “Offer ends February 14, 2010. Available with compatible devices within network coverage areas available from Bell Mobility where technology permits. Long distance and roaming charges (including foreign taxes) may apply outside your local area. Subject to change without notice; not combinable with other offers. Taxes extra. Other conditions apply. (1) Available to current customers on a postpaid plan. Apply to local calls at start of next bill cycle and over a 30-day period. Applied as a credit on the account before taxes; allow 4 to 6 weeks. 100 minutes shared between members on the same Share plan.”

  1. I really wish Bell would get with the times and realize Minutes don’t mean a roll of beans anymore. TELUS plans are light-years better (for example) because they realize 100 – 300 minutes is more than plenty for people and then offer more text/feature based benefits. Bell on the other hand gives you nothing you actually want.

Great, 100 extra minutes. I can put this with my other 400 monthly minutes I HAVE (in order for a decently priced data/feature set) to pay for and don’t use.

  2. Please objectively show us publicly available consumer plans between Telus and Bell and why they are “light-years” better. If anything, they’re TOO similar.

  3. Okay, let me see if I get this straight. They can’t just give me 100 minutes, I have to go into their store? Thanks Bell. I understand that it would hurt Bell too much to just give me the minutes considering I spend 150 bucks a month for features that make abso-effinglutely no sense. Like north american long distance when all that I really need is to call someone with a 416 number from 905 without paying 25 cents a minute. Even if they were only 20 minutes away.
ANDREW was sort of right. Telus used to have plans that were better than Bell. My friends that are with telus, used to pay half of what I did to get more than what I had. However, when they decided to ditch the system access fee (which no one could explain, new subscribers only) both companies tacked it onto their plans. They no longer have free incoming minutes and an option. The plans also went up by about 15 bucks. The companies keep making more profit, yet I still have to go into the store to get 100 minutes free. Here’s a hint bell. Good customer service equals adding the 100 minutes onto your customers bill as a thanks for staying with you. Stop making us feel like cheap hookers and give us a kiss for once, how ’bout a little dinner. People work (now a little harder to pay their increasing bell bill), we don’t have time to go into your stores so you can upsell us your bigger turbo stick. It hurts enough as it is :( lol

  4. “free incoming minutes and an option”

At a Telus store recently, I mentioned that I was going to move my business to Rogers and mysteriously, “unlimited incoming calls” became available for $15/month.

Note that I say “unlimited”, i.e., not “free”. Fifteen bucks + taxes ain’t free. In Europe, all incoming everything (voice + text) is standard.

  5. absolushaun: There has to be something in it for Bell too. If 100 minutes is worth your time then take them up on the offer.
I suppose if you were offered free gas you’d want Esso to come to your house to fill up your car too.
I for one support and encourage offers like this and try to avoid talking negatively about things that can benefit me.

  6. I can’t believe this, BELL is actually GIVING away FREE minutes, and nobody has anything GOOD to say about them. This is ridiculous…

  7. Are these recurring minutes? Or just one-time 100 minutes?
