My problem with him is that he used to work for BELL and said that he didn’t want to compete with the incumbents and would consider selling his business. Now if what I am hearing is correct Public Mobile now realizes they need cash to compete? OMG! So they didn't know what they were doing from the beginning and now they are crying the blues? Give me a break! This guy has not been in it for the long haul from the beginning and now he has changed his mind? This guy is so contradictive! Foreign Ownership rules were not disregarded or stepped around. The CRTC's decision was based on a subjective ruling that they relied on the incumbents to interpret for them. It is right in Mr. von Finckenstein's decision. The government's goals are for all Canadians to have access to telecommunications. Taxpayers helped build the big carriers and now that they are well established they have been bleeding us. They missed the point. I believe there has been a measure of collusion between the incumbents and now they are going to use Public Mobile to do their dirty work to try to stop real competition. In the debate Alex even talks about how the incumbents are going to make it very difficult for anyone to break into the market. Events in the last few months prove that. This latest move by Public Mobile simply is a further attempt to stall/paralyze the process of change. I was waiting for who was going to posture first.
