Someone needs to tear bell and samsung a new one over the firmware on this. (instead of gladhanding them like this review does)

it should also be noted, that the thinness comes from the tiny battery, which drains in less than a day.

This phone, is a perfect example of how Bell & co are hurting the domestic market… released a year too late, still their only android offering, with a complete absence of long-term support (firmware) in spite of it’s three year contract.

If the firmware is a year out of date now, I can only imagine how out of date it will be at the end of the three year contract.

I’m very seriously considering returning this phone.

I got this phone for xmas…..soo far it hsant let me down…..all the same features of an Iphone actually some were better…for half the cost.

No point buying this if there is no commitment from Bell or Samsung to update the OS.

Cannot be unlocked, except by Bell. FWIW, I have been told that this phone cannot be unlocked by 3rd parties as Bell does not make unlock codes available to said 3rd parties. The only way to unlock it is to buy it on contract and pay Bell $70 for the privilege of using your private property in the manner of your choosing. Apparently, if you buy it outright (not on contract), Bell will not sell you the unlock code.

Why is selling a locked phone even legal – let alone a severely locked one like the Galaxy? Would we tolerate buying a Toyota with the gas cap locked and only being able to fill it up at Toyota gas stations? The wireless situation in Canada (and NA in general) sucks badly.
