They already cover more area than Microcell did when they first launched. They roam on the Rogers network so your money ends up going back to Rogers anyways. They have long distance charges for data at 10 cents for 25 kb, even if you have the "unlimited plan". where as Rogers roaming data in the states is 0.6 cents per kb and 3 cents per mb overage charge with any plans. I don't think you need to do the math to know that's expensive. Also, if you are on a call, once you hit the away and home boarder the call gets drop, and you have to re-establish the call (ie place the call again) I don't think its wrong to complain, they are listening right? That's probably what they want anyways. And they were launched on Wednesday in Toronto and Friday in Calgary, so not even a week. It's going to be hard for a new entrant to compete with the 3 telcos, towers don't grow from the ground and Rogers Bell and Telus already have a very established network with the ability to offer crazy low rates if they have to retain their customers. The rates that Wind has to offer isn't significantly lower than what all the buzz was about. I am still going to be paying 80-90 for my voice and data combo. On top of that I have to pay practically full price for the handset. In the end I will probably spend more at Wind then with Rogers where every 2 years I am eligible for a discount price for a handset upgrade. In my opinion, Wind is kinda like the palm pre, big buzz thats supposed to hurt the 3 major carriers, but it just seems like its looking to be an epic fail. Wind chill is not a factor for Rogers Bell and Telus. Looks like Wind is just bringing through a light breeze. Looks like Globalive is breaking wind.
