BlackBerry Industrial Design Team to be honoured at Design Exchange Gala

Over the past couple years RIM has changed the look and style of their BlackBerry products and are world leaders when it comes to Smartphone devices. We are really proud they are a Canadian company!

Each year the Design Exchange (DX) holds the Annual DX Black and White Fundraising Gala. This years it’s on Saturday, October 24, 2009 and the purpose of the benefit is to recognize distinction in design. Samantha S. Sannella, President and CEO of Design Exchange (DX) and Tim Gilbert, Chairman of the DX Board have announced that this years recipient of the 2009 Design Excellence will go to a couple RIM executives: Todd Wood, VP Industrial Design and Jason Griffin, VP Advanced Ergonomics.

Sannella said “Designing feature-packed smartphones is very complex. The slightest measurement difference affects the feel of the smartphone, its balance and usability. Moreover, BlackBerry is THE leading Canadian brand that is front and centre on the worldwide stage. The RIM Industrial Design team has contributed greatly to its success and this helps to brand Canada as a design-led nation. The DX is honoured to give this year’s award for design excellence to the team at RIM.”
