I have had the rogers hub for nearly a year. HORRIBLE decision. Internet is very slow and sometimes does not work, even though I have 3G, and I have spent several HOURS every month going through the endless mind-numbing circles that Rogers calls Customer Service. After 8 months they admitted that the service is not actually available in my area, but refused to do much more than a 15% credit on-going. Happy that I could at last have a break from the headache, I accepted. In true form, Rogers failed to actually apply the credit, I have had to call in to get them to actually apply it for the last few months, and was just informed after 54 minutes on the phone that the system will not allow the credit to be applied. How is this company still exists is beyond me. Only get Rogers Hub if you want internet that is almost too slow to use online banking to pay the exorbitant rates…

This thing……………eeeee….I don’t know. At first, it worked very well. The support always told me that you could not use xbox/ps3/wii. Myself and others got it to work but, typically as all wireless providers, everyday between 4-midnight the connection is terrible. When you try to deal with support they just give you the run around with speed tests and then say it must be interference. However, both companies before told me that it is due to overloading their towers.

Tamer..something is off with your claims of $700.00 for 2 months.. as it is $60.00 for the 10g & if you go over WHICH we have..the max is additional $50.00 so $110.00 dollars..
Which is still cheaper then my xplornet which was $175.00 a month..

This peice of crap machine sucks and no one should get it, You pay 35 dollers a month for 5Gigabytes of memory a month, heres the thing the average computer user consumes roughly 20 gigabytes a month on internet usage via, music and movie downloads, and if your the type to stream movies, or even use your xbox/PS3 online, in this case youve gone 15 gigs over your limit and are now in a position of charges, from personal experience ive been charged 700 dollers for 2 months of this internet connection, and my signals arent even half decent enough to work. i highley advise all of you who read this, NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT IT WILL BE A HORRIBLE CHOICE!

We just purchased the Rocket Hub and we love it!!! We get a full signal where we live and the speed can range from 3mb/s to 5.78mb/s . We have been on dial up for 14 years so to us this is fast. I highly recommend the Rocket Hub to anyone who lives i a rural area as long as you can get a good reception with your Rogers cell phone.

Don’t be fooled by all the Rogers hype. I tried out 2 of these devices and tech support told me all kinds of stories about needing an antenna, they deleted my acct., exchange the unit for another one, and then when I go to return it, I find out that Rogers has a problem setting the units up and they are delayed by over a week. Well, they only let you return it within 15 days so waiting a week or would have put me outside my return period. Tech support tells you to call nerdsonsite for an antenna and nobody there can tell you how much the antenna costs. Someone else has to call you and when they finally do, you need to spend about $350 and on top of that the antenna company that makes them is closed for holidays, so you can’t get an antenna till mid January when, once again, my 15 day trial period expires. Seems Rogers has rolled this out before putting the proper infrastructure into place. Signal strength and the device changing from 2G to 3G to 3G+, then 1/2 the time NOT getting an IP address made this thing useless for me. Oh, and tech support either can’t speak English or the ones that do are arrogant and rude and hung up on me. You won’t see this device in my house again. Definitely NOT ready for prime time. Be afraid, be very, very afraid.

I’ve had this solution for over a year now at my cottage. I purchased a Cradlepoint MBR 1000 from my local Rogers dealer and within minutes had a Wi-Fi hotspot that I could share with the whole family.
It worked so well that I bought a second model the PHS 300 to take with me on business trips.

I think it’s a great idea.
Instead of paying 50 a month for a crappy sattelite net connection, I could just get this thing and have reliable internet, that I could even have to take back home, and boom. I don’t even have to pay for a second connection. My only concern is the data caps.

There are a lot of places in Canada that have 3G coverage and no DSL service. A fixed-mobile device allows Rogers to fill that gap without undercutting their existing mobile broadband plans.

The question is how much traffic is included in the $35/mo plan.

This is actually going to work with the new network that is in place, the 21mb per sec and with 7.2mb per sec in the regular 3G areas, outside city.
