I realize that, but I’m open to that option as well. Or at least if they change the restrictions for the current 20% to something higher. This has been the stumbling block for getting new entrants into the system in the past. Its expensive to start a telco company, how can the government expect Canadian companies to just start from scratch and do it?

Theninjasquad doesn’t really care who owns gloablive, but then Telus or Bell should be allowed to be bought up by Verizon or AT&T. Well, that can’t happen under the foreign ownership rules right now.

I’m confused after listening to that…. if Globalive is supposed to have this CRTC hearing as required for their license, why is it that Telus and the other incumbents are the one requesting it? Why has the CRTC not asked them to do it already as part of the approval process to be up and running? I don’t quite understand why Telus, Rogers, and Bell are apparently doing the job of the government for them.

I don’t really care who owns them… I want some competition around here. I wish the government didn’t care so much either.
