I commute a lot and am not usually near any free/public wifi, so yeah, if I had the option of getting unlimited data with a nice media-rich smartphone, I'd go for it, and I'd probably try and make the most of it (youtube, stream music, play online games, you name it!). I only use about 500mb of my 1GB Fido Data plan, but that’s because:

With people spending so much of their day on computers and around wi-fi, a large data plan really isn't that important. When you do use your data plan, you're loading web pages and e-mail, hardly anything that would use up much bandwidth. Sounds pretty accurate for my usage.
