Toronto Mayor proclaims September 12-16th, 2009 as “Mobile Innovation Week”

Mobile Innovation Week launched a few days ago and today, Toronto Mayor David Miller proclaimed that “on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim September 12-16, 2009 as “mobile Innovation Week” to acknowledge the tremendous contribution that individuals and businesses in the mobile industry make to the socio-economic sustainability of our city”.

We captured this on video from the Mobile Media World 2009 this morning, it’s a bit shaky as my tripod busted while he was speaking. But the essence is there. The event features speakers, presentations and break out sessions from leading mobile providers, manufacturers and developers from around the world.

Check out the video of Mayor Miller opening this mornings presentations up… you’ll see even he is completely addicted to his BlackBerry as during the photo shoot he was constantly using it. Most likely updating his Twitter account.
