Bluetooth transfers are at fairly low speeds so not recommended for transferring large files or lots of MP3s. USB transfers or direct copy to a micro-SD memory card would be more efficient. Ringtones need to be in .QCP format and must be copied to the phone's internal memory, not a memory card. (use the free PureVoice app from Qualcomm to convert audio files to use for ringtones).
