Wimbledon goes mobile with “Seer Android” App

Being a massive tennis fan, this was of interest to me. Wimbledon is the major tennis tournament to win and it looks like it’s being outfitted mobile style now.

IBM is using the compass, camera and GPS in the Now IBM in the G1 (HTC Dream in Canada) has reality mobile app specifically for Wimbledon called “Seer Android”. This will help people get information fast and navigate through the daily happening at Wimbledon.

It works by pointing your camera at anything such as the players, tennis courts, drinking fountains, bathrooms, buses. As you move the device around it tells you where you are in relation to the Wimbledon grounds. This also has live updates. Pretty cool stuff happening!
