The Canadian Press Mobile goes iPhone

The Canadian Press iPhone AppThe Canadian Press has released a new iPhone app so its readers can read info on the go. They originally launched their mobile application back in March and with this app there is really nothing new or groundbreaking… except the cost. The iPhone app will set you back $2.99 for a 1-year “subscription”.

This is available in English or French and you can get news from some of the following topics: Top News, Canada, World, Local, Business, Sports, Hockey, Showbiz, Technology, Science, Travel and Wacky. Also, you can search, view pics and rate the news, save, email or post news to Facebook or Delicious.

Eric Morrison, President of The Canadian Press said “Users who want to stay one touch away from accessing the latest news anywhere, anytime will find The Canadian Press Mobile app well worth the $2.99 one-year subscription. The app works without an Internet connection and can use the iPhone’s GPS to deliver local news based on automatic detection of a user’s current location.”

Personally, we still prefer Viigo as a source for information on the latest happenings.
