Rogers survey: 26% of “wirelessly connected” Canadians access the web

rogersandroidRogers and Ipso-Reid have conducted a poll to promote the upcoming June 2nd launch of the Google Android platform devices, the HTC Dream and HTC Magic.

Stats shows that “Canadians are becoming captivated by mobile surfing”. Some stats to take away are: 26% of wirelessly connected Canadians aged 18-34 access the web from their mobile devices everyday. Of that 26%, 65% of them surf multiple times a day. E-mail is a biggie at 70%… a number I thought would be higher is searching for info is only at 36%. Face =book and Twitter are popular with 25% of users polled visiting social networking sites.

John Boynton, SVP and CMO, Rogers Wireless “The Internet is a huge part of our everyday lives – especially younger
Canadians who want the web all the time. With must-have handsets like the HTC Dream and HTC Magic, running on Canada’s fastest mobile network, Canadian consumers now have an unmatched selection of mobile devices delivering them a true web experience when and where they want it.”
