Thousands of Canadians every year get bilked of millions of dollars because their phone number is in the phone book. You want peace & quiet? Bell charges an extortion fee for this. You will have to give them $5/month. There are ways around this fee however for those who know. 2-There are answering machines that require all callers to enter a code (that you pick) before getting through to you. You give that code to your friends and family. If they don't have the code they are invited to leave a message. Btw, unlike those expensive voice mail services, you CAN, if you wish, monitor the caller and pick up the phone anytime you want. Try that with voice mail.
