shortcovers-logoShortcovers allows you to read books, magazines etc on your mobile device has released a new app for BlackBerry users. The biggest change since first launching back in April is that you can just install and start reading, you will no longer be required to sign up. In addition, they have released a beta for all Android G1 users that can be found here.

They have also announced a new developer program. You will be able to develop your own applications based on Shortcovers’ SDK. The program officially will launch June 1st, 2009 but you can apply and be part of the process and create applications.

Michael Serbinis, CIO & EVP of Indigo Books & Music said “We are committed to the vision that people can read digitally on any device, anytime, anywhere, and are lowering the barrier to entry for mobile OEMs and application developers around the world. They can now build and market their own devices that automatically connect to great content, giving consumers the option to read on any device they choose. OEMs and developers can also build great new applications for Shortcovers customers and readers everywhere.”
