74% of all global messages now sent via mobile phone

tnslogoAccording to a new study by TNS Technology, 74% of all messages globally are now sent through a mobile device. Compared to 1-year ago where it was only at 59%. The report goes into greater detail of how emerging markets are choosing to get a mobile phone over a land line.

Sam Curtis, Sector Development Manager at TNS Technology said “As mobile devices slowly take away usage share from fixed services in developed markets, in emerging markets consumers are more likely to by-pass fixed communications altogether and go straight to mobiles.”
