Some of the guys I know that get the most work done with and are the best to brainstorm have a great sense of humour, and random shenanigans like that can be good for morale. The timing seemed a little strange - there were some others who looked like they were in a more serious train of thought while he was doing that so he may have been a negative distraction - but I'd hardly say you could bash the workspace from seeing that short clip.
