The rumours continue to swirl when it comes to the possible launch of the iPhone Nano.
We have had a couple case manufacturers put the availability on their website, and now a report coming from the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) says that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) will be picking up chip orders for Apple’s iPhone Nano.
“the chip orders may come in March and the launch of Apple’s iPhone nano is expected to take place in June this year at the earliest”… which means us Canadians will most likely see this by 2015, realistically if all goes well by 2010?

I think now that Canada was finally on board with the 3G launch, we’ll get all subsequent models. Rumour was the main issue on the first launch was the data-intensity of the device, when Canada was still reaping the benefits of overpriced data plans, but who knows. Now that the pricing model for the iPhone is in place, it’s just a matter of shipping out new hardware for next models.
I still can’t see why they would make an iPhone Nano though… For it to be significantly smaller, the applications would have to accommodate a whole new screen size. And who would want a smaller screen, especially with the existing iPhone already so affordable? But who knows, it’s always hard to predict what Apple will release.
