Motorola to cut 50% of its handset division this week

Motorola’s has been laying off it’s employees consistently for the past year, most recently another 400 just before the holidays started. It seems Motorola is getting ready to cut 50% of the entire handset operation this week. They will also reduce the number of phones they produce this year to 12 and focus their smartphones on Google’s Android platform.
