Rogers activated 130,000 iPhone 3G in Q4 2008

rogersq4earlyRogers  has released some preliminary Q4 2008 subscriber results:

During Q4 approximately 130,000 iPhone 3G devices were activated, 40% new subscribers and the rest were existing customers who upgraded. Postpaid Subscribers stayed the same as las year with 158,000. Prepaid subscribers increased by 16% to 41,000 and total wireless subscribers increased by a whopping 16% to 199,000 compared to Q4 2007.

Regarding the iPhone, if you take the results from Q3 (255,000) and the Q4 total (130,000) this brings combined estimated iPhone 3G sales to 385,000?

Alan Horn, Chairman and acting CEO of Rogers Communications Inc. said “Our wireless subscriber results reflect our success in driving greater penetration of more advanced wireless data devices and services.”

Rogers will release its unaudited Q4 2008 financial results and full year 2009 guidance on February 18, 2009.
