Bell BlackBerry Storm “closely following the US launch”

Our friends over on the east side of Canada gave a nice wake up call this morning with an internal e-mail that states the BlackBerry Storm will launch shortly after our friends in the USA:

“RIM’s latest product innovation, the first touch screen BlackBerry is expected to arrive in the US with Verizon on November 21, 2008. The Storm will be available in Canada closely following the US launch. Testing on the Bell Storm has begun; Bell & Telus will receive the device for sale at the same time.”

Also, all training for the new touchscreen device has to be fully completed by Friday, December 5th… so this could mean it will be available December 5th, or on Monday, December 8th. No word on pricing yet, but Verizon is selling this on a 2-year contract for $199.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate). We know from the Bell “Win BlackBerry Storm Contest” the Storm has an approximate value of $650.

More to come soon!
