Telus’ Koodo Mobile sets up kiosk in Toronto!

Telus has still not officially launched the new discount wireless carrier called “Koodo Mobile”. However a kiosk with the name Koodo Mobile is set up in Toronto’s Eaton Centre and Scarborough Town Centre, and a mall directory at the Pickering Town Centre in Ontario lists Koodo Mobile.

Telus spokesman Jim Johannsson still declined to comment on the future plans of Koodo Mobile, or Koodomobile.ca.

Read our previous article 1, article 2, article 3.

The introduction Koodo mobile is targeted to a youth audience who are more likely to pay for services like ring tones, music and text messages… a business plan that has certainly worked for Bell (Virgin) and Rogers (Fido) brands.

More to come… (possibly by Monday)

    6. I signed up with Koodo on Apr 28 which I had to discontinue immediately, as the wireless was unable to receive text from some countries. The kiosk had confirmed to me specifically that there would be no inconvenience and no fees for cancellation within 30 days. My cancellation and cell phone return was within 3 days – the phone not used at all.
In a month I received an invoice from Koodo for $ 174.43. On checking with Koodo’s office, I was asked to go back to the booth where I purchased and surrendered the phone and get the booth to call Koodo’s office to confirm that the phone is returned. I have the return receipt of the cell – however, I am supposed to leave my work and go back to the booth for a futile exercise. This is because the booth has not
recorded that the instrument is returned. The booth confirms to me that the cell is indeed returned. I am unable to understand why a customer should be put to such inconvenience. The record from where I got the phone is clear – however, they cannot clarify same with their own Head Office and the customer has to make an additional trip.
Firther, the staff at the booth tells me that it is a mistake and questions me if I don’t ever make mistakes.
The whole experience is a bad one which I hope improves. Till then, please be aware of Koodo putting you on the run……….

    7. I purchased a phone with koodo mobile in April, Every bill i have recieved I had charges on it that I didnt do. They fixed it for me, but however when my phone got stolen I had to chancel my service. When I called to do so they tryed to keep me with them and said i could use the rest of my koodo tab to put towards a new phone. So I thought about it, when i called them back 5 days later I decided i was just going to cancel it. When I was talking to one of the employes at koodo i asked him if i would have another bill besides what I owed on my koodo tab? He told me I would just have to pay off my koodo tab because the $50 I had just paid was for my last phone bill. Come to find out today they want me to pay them $231.75! They said its because I owed $100 from my last bill (which the guy told me was paid off , which was the $50) and then the rest of my tab!!! This guy argued with me on the phone told me I was a lier and said he was stating the obious! Well I was not to happy about the things that were said to me when I was just trying to figure out why I owed that much. I was constantly intruped when I was trying to talk. So I asked to speak with a supervisor she didnt take the time of day to let me explain to her what was going on she just went ahead and was very rude to me and stated that i was going to pay it because i signed a conract. I know i signed a contract but listen to what im tryin to say lol . However my conversation with her didnt go well at all and I still have to pay them $231.75 which is not right and not fair but I told them I will never recommend anyone to get a phone with them because they have bad customer service which is the one things people want to see good!
