Palm Canada supports Autism

Palm Canada announced a Palm Foundation cash grant and the donation of 100 Palm handhelds and accessories to
kick-start a new e-Learning program at the Geneva Centre for Autism. The resources are being used for training and technical-support costs associated with transferring paper-based visual cues and reminders onto Palm handheld devices.

“We are very excited to work with the Palm Foundation to advance our mobile-learning initiatives for autistic individuals using cutting-edge technology. Our goal is to empower people with autism by giving them the tools they need to lead independent, confident lives,” says Margaret Whelan, executive director, Geneva Centre for Autism.

  1. I want everyone to know what Telus is really about regaurding Autism. I am the father of 5 year old twin girls who both suffer from severe autism. I have been fighting for fundind for a while now for my girls. In my fight, I have gone bankrupt waiting for the government to provide funding for them. I have gotten behind in my Telus bill $62 and they have shut off my service. I called them to have my service turned back on because I need this service severly due to my twins. I was talked down to immediately by their customer service. I tried to explain the reason that my bill had gotten behind a little bit. She prceded to tell me that I was wrong and that the funding for my daughters had started when they were 24 months old. First, I would like to know how she would have this information(which she is dead wrong) I took offence to this as I have had to deal with this for the last 5 years twice over. I called the next day only to get some major additude from a supervisor. Telus can act like it supports autism all they want but when it comes down to it, they are just looking for more money and supports themselves only. I am asking that anyone who has to deal with autism in their family to NOT use Telus as a phone carrier and to let them know why.
